ShoeMed was founded in August 2011 2011by Lisa Preston, with a vision to offer a destination shoe shop for people experiencing foot problems, and therefore difficulty with finding shoes. The first shop was opened in Stratford upon Avon, which quickly gained a loyal customer base alongside also a reputation with podiatrists and other health professionals as the ideal shop to refer patients to, who needed help with their shoes. Over the ten years, the business has grown from initially offering a local service, to reaching across the UK and beyond, helping people with problem feet to find great shoes.
ShoeMed offers an unsurpassed customer experience, thanks to initial and on-going training of their team in foot conditions and health issues which affect the lower limb health. Then, ShoeMed ensures they have a stock which reflects the customers’ needs, by the careful selection of the very best footwear to accommodate these foot and health conditions. Alongside this, they hold secure, detailed customer fitting records, so that your next purchase is made easier by having records to refer back to. Complementing the in-store experience is an up to date website showing all the stock available, and they even offer a footwear video consultation service for people in the comfort of their own home.
ShoeMed provides an opportunity for existing Podiatrists, Physiotherapists and other allied health professionals to utilise ShoeMed’s 10 years of specialist footwear knowledge to earn additional income and offer new services. ShoeMed provides a branded leaflet holder with custom flyers. You will receive a rental payment for displaying the stand, equal to 10% of your patients purchases. Each of your patients will be entitled to £10 off purchases over £100, using your unique discount code. We will help your patients both in-store, online, and via telephone, whilst supporting you with custom artwork for your website, blogs, a professional leaflet display for your clinics, and more as required.
Working with a range of specialist partners, ShoeMed has developed Filter-by-Condition at shoemed.co.uk alongside free online video consultations. For those that cannot reach a ShoeMed store for a one-to-one fitting, this provides a lifeline to specialist help. Footwear can be recommended alongside treatment to aid the health of your clients, each patient referred by you will receive a promotional offer.
ShoeMed stocks a range of specialist footwear brands including Joya Shoes, FinnComfort, Fidelio and YDA; each designed to have a unique benefit for those in need. Joya Shoes are particularly beneficial for those with back pain and are recommended by AGR, the Association Forum Healthy Back – Better Living and Federal Association of German Back Schools.
Once you join the referral program you will be eligible to receive a ShoeMed point-of-display unit with ShoeMed branded leaflets. These can be used to educate customers and assist you in referrals. Leaflets and point-of-display are supplied free of charge. You will receive regular check-ups from the ShoeMed team to ensure you never run out of stock and to provide training on how to maximise the program. Additional leaflets can be supplied on request.
ShoeMed’s referral program grants you access to new marketing channels, social media posts to highlight your business, unique landing page on the ShoeMed website and discount codes for your clients, to be used in-store or at ShoeMed.co.uk. Top partners may also be featured in the ShoeMed newsletter, going out to thousands of members.
