Levamed® active ankle support with stabilising strap
Levamed active is a support for soft tissue compression of the ankle joint with additional functional elements. It is easy to put on thanks to clever strap details and intuitive strap guides. The adjustable and removable strap system with elastic and non-elastic areas allows the ankle support to be individually adjusted to the foot. The higher transverse and longitudinal stretch ensures an extended relief zone and greater wearing comfort, especially for patients with a high instep.
The Levamed active support is used when soft tissue compression with local additional padding is required on the upper ankle joint (UAJ) or lower ankle joint (LAJ) and at least one direction of movement is to be restricted by additional functional elements. This is the case, for example, with
- Sprains (distortions) with capsular overstretching
- Chronic ligament instabilities with recurring twisting injuries (supination traumas)
- External ligament tears (ruptures) in the second treatment phase
- Treatment of injuries to the syndesmosis ligament that do not require surgery (conservative therapy)
