Technology
Styles in the Ascent shoe range offer air mesh technology, aiding the ventilation and cooling of the foot. The three-layer textile mesh helps air to flow freely, featured in the upper and of the shoe. The TPU outsole is highly durable and lighter than rubber, ideal for active days. Soft calf leather moulds to your child’s foot like no other material, resistant to cracking and peeling, it’s also naturally breathable. The ascent footwear also features Ortholite technology, an open-cell foam used to cushion and protect the underside of the foot, alongside Polimax, the additional foam used to provide foot control and reduce sweating.
The supportive arch insole featured in the ascent footwear range is fully removable and can be replaced with a custom orthotic if required. The standard insert provides pronation control and arch support, helping to promote natural airflow during play. A thermoplastic heel counter helps to support the heel, offering additional stability with each strike. This is paired with a dual-density midsole, also offering additional stability and aiding the prevention of over-pronation. Traditionally using in dynamic court sports, the firm midsole foam is located on the medial area of the midsole and helps to provide lateral support. The Ascent Scholar offers a TPU heel stabiliser to hold the base of the heel. Used to provide further medial stability for those who over-pronate. The heel stabiliser wraps around the base of the upper around the heel, extending under the heel counter. Please note, technologies used may vary by style.
Two fit shoes
As part of their support’s heritage, ascent studied 2000 ‘The Athlete’s Foot’ customers to find out how their shoe size varied by feet. Finding the majority of the population has different size feet, in line with international findings. This resulted in Ascent developing it's two fit shoe range. Styles including the Men’s Vision and Women’s Voyager are available to purchase in both same and split sizes. The IIFIT category, including the Vision and Women's Voyager, can be sold as a mismatched pair or individual shoe, for when a replacement is needed.
